I visited Fluffy this summer.

Hokay! Way back in mid-July, I visited my friend Halo in Chicago. Needless to say, we immediately went to the Shedd Aquarium, so I could say hello to Fluffy!

Fluffy is the only lungfish in a large African-biotope tank, as she should be, because African lungfishes (unlike Australian ones) don't get along too well in confined spaces.

Here's how Fluffy was sitting in her tank when I first saw her. Here's how Fluffy was sitting in her tank when I first saw her.

After I took a few pictures, she turned around to see where all those bright flashes were coming from. After I took a few pictures, she turned around to see where all those bright flashes were coming from.

Maybe she recognized me. Maybe she recognized me.

She went up for a breath of air... She went up for a breath of air...

... and gracefully slid back to the bottom. ... and gracefully slid back to the bottom.

Fluffy looks happy in her new home. I am satisfied that she is well housed and properly cared for. Fluffy looks happy in her new home. I am satisfied that she is well housed and properly cared for.

she looks HUGE! and very very content. :) awwww.
Is that a (necessarily heavily-armored) little pleco friend behind her in the last pic?

And *gulp* why are the rocks stained red?
That's a Synodontis cat of some sort. They don't make plecos in Africa. :)

BTW -- I learned, the gruesome way, that a pleco's armour is no match for Fluffy's jaws.
hehe, I was wondering if this post was ever going to happen!

man, speaking of beloved pets from which we are estranged, that pic of my fuzzball in the linked post almost just reduced me to tears. :(
